To me it looks about right. Agree you need spacer. Tom would probably be the professional on this. He should be signing up for the board soon. I will email him a link to your post and see if he will answer your questions.

Looks like you have what you need. The spacer you're missing is an aluminum barrel-shaped deal that the bolt passes through. The "L" shaped rod in your pics is used in a/c cars to route the heater hose around engine block and under compressor to keep it away from heat & abrasion. Hope that helps...

Yes, your 1st pic is the bar that holds the heater hose up, but I think the "L" shaped bar from your original post goes on under or behind the compressor to keep the hose out of the suspension and off of the manifold.
The bracket you're holding behind the compressor looks right, but I am not 100% positive.
Here's the disclaimer: Neither my '76 or '77 have a/c otherwise I'd go look and take pics. Do you have access to a service manual? If not, I'll see if I can find one with an exploded diagram...

Tho I can't offer much help except to agree with Scott about the spacers, it's nice to see people helping each other so much already, on this days-old forum!

That's why it looked familiar. All of my PMD V8's have a stud in that center head bolt - the wagon has a bracket on H side for the trans cooler lines on that one.
Looks like you're doing a very detailed resto. Share more about the car...

Yes that looks like the way that bracket goes. I had A/C on my 71 and this what the Head bolt/stud looks like. Sorry it's out of focus. Rick H
